welcome to EFM |

Following a highly successful logistics operation at the inaugural Doha Tribeca Film Festival event in October 2009, EFM were re-appointed to handle all the logistical and freighting requirements for the organisers of the now annual event, which took place between 26th-30th October 2010. Drawing on a number of key EFM global offices (UK, Germany, Dubai, USA and Australia), this event demonstrated EFM’s unique capabilities as a result of having its company-owned offices around the globe in these key locations, combined with EFM’s un-rivalled local knowledge in the Middle East. The 2010 Festival was held in six venues across Doha, with EFM delivering essential production materials and supplies to all locations. Qatar’s new Cultural Village – Katara, was home to a spectacular open air theatre with a capacity of 1,900 – one of the largest temporary amphitheatres ever built in the region and a truly unique venue with views of Katara Beach and out to the sea beyond – situated between the West Bay and Pearl Qatar Island. For this initial part of the project, EFM arranged and co-ordinated a total of 60 trucks in each direction for the transportation of the amphitheatre from Dubai and back again – equivalent to over 700,000kgs being moved across the desert! Closer to the Festival Opening, EFM transported essential production materials to all of the festival’s key venues. This amounted to in excess of 200 tons of airfreight each way and a number of sea freight containers from Europe and USA. Materials moved ranged from directors chairs to marquees, moleskin notebooks from Milan, to lighting equipment from the UK, as well as a large quantity of high-end décor from Antibes. In addition, EFM was entrusted with film rushes, rigging materials and audio equipment, and were responsible for handling a further 20 truck loads of production equipment between UAE and Doha. This complex operation involved shipments by air, road and sea originating from UK, Italy, USA, Dubai, France, Belgium & Australia, and a full time EFM Project team on the ground in Qatar for almost two months… all of which have further cemented EFM’s position as a key freight supplier in the Middle East. |
