A sports packed year for EFM in 2010!

Added November 20th, 2010

2010 is turning into one of the busiest years ever for EFM’s Sports Event Department, with the company supplying freighting and logistical solutions for every major sporting event in the international calendar.

Celebrating a decade in business this year, and 10 years of successful track record in the international sporting arena, EFM were entrusted with the movement of essential equipment to locations around the world, from the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, Winter Olympics in Vancouver; IAAF Indoor Athletics Championships in Doha, FIFA World Cup in South Africa and Youth Olympic Games in Singapore to the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky, the Asian Games in Guangzhou and the World Rowing Championships in New Zealand.  With no rest for the sports experienced EFM team, the Company will finish off the 2010 sporting year with the forthcoming Muscat Asian Beach Games in December, ready to kick off again in early 2011 with the next Asian Winter Games in Almaty.

EFM’s Director Lisa Ryan explains the significance of this extraordinary year:

“2010 has been a fantastic demonstration of EFM’s capabilities, during which we have worked with the organisers, suppliers, media, teams and sponsors of every high profile sports event on the calendar.  We have moved all manner of sports equipment, from sailing and rowing boats, canoes, oars and masts, to sports team uniforms, medical and nutritional supplies and sponsors collateral, horse feed, tack and personal effects.  Over and above the sports teams themselves, we have been busy moving essential production equipment that included rigging, staging, audio, video, projection and lighting equipment, catering equipment, props, set and costumes for Opening and Closing Ceremonies and temporary structures.  You can imagine the list goes on, including everything from broadcasting equipment to portable kitchens to highly sensitive pyrotechnics… let’s just say there is never a dull day at the EFM offices!

“With our newly opened office in Australia, a growing team in the USA, and continuing success in the UK, Germany and UAE, EFM is uniquely placed to coordinate freighting and logistics on a global scale, particularly in busy years such as 2010 when equipment has had to be moved so quickly from one event to another, such as the broadcasting equipment that we moved directly from the Winter Olympics in Canada to South Africa for the FIFA World Cup, then straight to Delhi in time for the Commonwealth Games.

“Our success has been down to the wide ranging expertise within the team at EFM, strong relationships with clients and our local agents, and a continuing commitment to deliver on time, and within budget. We have moved equipment door to door, by air, road and sea, from and back to countless destinations across the globe for these events and provided full on-site attendance, project management, freight forwarding, customs clearance, warehousing, labour, forklifts, cranes, and trucking to ensure success for every stakeholder.”
