Swan Lake on Ice: beneath the surfaceAdded October 29th, 2010
Working in partnership with Lunchbox Theatrical Productions, EFM helped the dancers of Swan Lake on Ice to spread their wings in the Far East back in 2007. With over 10,000kg of production equipment to handle, including ice-making machinery, and a sizeable aircraft cargo of 10 airline pallets of delicate and valuable performance equipment to take care of, EFM ensured that a tight schedule was strictly adhered to, enabling performances to firstly take place in Tokyo, and then in Singapore during September 2007. After the last Sunday evening show in Tokyo, EFM – event freight specialists, worked through the night, completing customs formalities and methodically loading pallets until 3am for two flights on the Monday morning straight to Singapore. With coordination between EFM staff in the UK, Tokyo and Singapore and liaison with the airline, the full load was delivered, with time to spare, to the waiting Production Manager. EFM’s relationship with ice shows has continued and grown since these initial moves in 2007, to include world tours of “Cinderella on Ice”, “Disney on Ice” and a recent move of “Beauty and the Beast on Ice” via sea freight from UK to Brazil. Upcoming during the Summer of 2011, EFM are already preparing ahead for another challenging “Swan Lake on Ice” world tour around Singapore, Thailand, Spain, South Africa and Australia via air, road and sea freight.
